OBOE DAY 2017

March 5, 2017, 9:30am - March 5, 2017, 5:30pm

Royal Over-Seas League

The day promises something for all and is suitable for students, amateurs and professionals alike. All age groups are welcome with suggested standard from grade 3 equivalent through to diploma plus level. Play in ensembles, partake of a masterclass and listen to concerts. Be involved in a wonderful day devoted to the Oboe. The very first UK Loree Oboe day took place at the Conway Hall London in 1997, with Nicholas Daniel as the featured artist. Since then Oboe days have taken place at various Conservatoires throughout the country, featuring top artists and exploring the world of the oboe. Last year's event in Canterbury, which featured the inaugural Leon Goosens Composition Prize, provided the catalyst for today's event to explore various aspects of oboe playing in an informal, exciting and thought provoking way, utilising the talents of some of the country's top players.
